Pyongyang, January 8 (KCNA) -- The Chonan Citizens Committee for Promoting Erection of Girl's Statue for Peace in south Korea held a press conference on Dec. 30 last year before the Girl's Statue for Peace erected in Chonan City, according to Newsis of south Korea. The organization recalled that the Girl's Statue for Peace was erected on Dec. 10 last year in Chonan to lay bare the crimes related to sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army. The "agreement" Japan and south Korea made at the authorities' talks disregarded the recommendation the United Nations Human Rights Commission made to the Japanese government to admit the responsibility and make an apology and reparation for the sexual slavery, it noted, and went on: The outcome of the talks is unacceptable as they failed to work out even a written agreement. The organization declared that it would continue its struggle until the Japanese government made an apology and reparation. |
