Kim Hyong Gwon, Indomitable Revolutionary Fighter
Pyongyang, January 12 (KCNA) -- Today marks the 80th anniversary of the death of Kim Hyong Gwon, an indomitable revolutionary fighter.

On this occasion, people in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea recall with deep emotion the feats he performed for Korea's liberation from Japan's colonial rule, true to President Kim Il Sung's line of waging an anti-Japanese armed struggle.

Kim Hyong Gwon had been intensely loyal to the country and the revolution and the leader's idea and line.

At the historic Kalun Meeting held in the early period of the Korean revolution, Kim Il Sung set forth the line of armed struggle against the Japanese invaders and formed the Korean Revolutionary Army (KRA) for its implementation. Then he dispatched KRA groups to the homeland in order to expand the armed struggle.

In August Juche 19 (1930), Kim Hyong Gwon led one of the groups to carry on military and political activities in the northern area of Korea.

He displayed undaunted fighting spirit to carry through Kim Il Sung's line of armed struggle.

When he was arrested by the Japanese police due to betrayal of a renegade, he did not abandon his revolutionary faith and unyieldingly fought against the enemies in the teeth of cruel tortures.
