They were attended by officials of the local party and power bodies, working people's organizations, factories, enterprisers, farms and universities, service personnel of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, working people, youths and students.

The statement of the DPRK government was read out and congratulatory speeches were made at the meeting held in Ryanggang Province.

Speakers said that the success in the H-bomb test was a great deed of historic significance and victory that demonstrated the dignity of the great Paektusan nation far and wide.

They stressed that the signal success made in the above-said test with indigenous wisdom, technology and efforts was the reflection of the highest tribute and loyalty to the great leaders and the manifestation of the unshakable faith and will of the Workers' Party of Korea dynamically advancing along the road of independence, Songun and socialism.

Speakers at the meetings held in the cities of Sunchon and Songrim and the counties of Taegwan, Unryul, Kyongsong, Chonma, Sangwon, Songwon and Jongphyong said the particularly significant event reinforced the will of the service personnel and people of the DPRK to wage a more dynamic struggle for building a thriving nation with firm conviction that there is no formidable enemy to fear in the world and nothing is impossible.

They stressed the need to fully demonstrate the spirit and mettle of Songun Korea in ushering in a golden age of building a thriving nation this year when the Seventh Congress of the WPK is to be held.
