DPRK Representative at Geneva Sends Letter to Member of Managing Board of World Economic Forum
Pyongyang, January 14 (KCNA) -- The permanent representative of the DPRK to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva sent a letter to the member of the Managing Board of the World Economic Forum on Jan. 14.

The letter expressed deep concern over the fact that the participation of a DPRK's delegation in the Davos World Economic Forum that had already been on schedule was cancelled due to a sudden and irresponsible move taken by the Forum.

The delegation decided to take part in the Forum meeting, taking into consideration the repeated requests by the Forum and hoped to avail itself of the opportunity to introduce the economic performance in the DPRK and promote economic cooperation with several countries on the principles of friendship and mutual reciprocity, the letter said. However, the Forum, unbecoming for its character and appearance as an international body for discussing economic issues, unilaterally cancelled the DPRK delegation's participation by citing an unjustifiable political reason, the letter added.

It noted that the behavior of the Forum is a very sinister act of defying the elementary impartiality and principles to be abided by the international body as it took advantage of the moves of some forces pursuing extreme hostile policy toward the DPRK.

The letter emphasized that the Forum will be held duly responsible for the consequences to be entailed by its unfriendly measure taken against the DPRK, a dignified sovereign state and full-fledged economic entity in Northeast Asia.
