Nullification of Humiliating "Agreement" Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, January 21 (KCNA) -- The Council for the Solution of the Issue of the Volunteers Corps in south Korea held the 1 214th Wednesday rally before the statue of a girl outside the Japanese embassy in Seoul with the attendance of people of various circles in demand of the proper settlement of the issue of the sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army.

At the rally speakers accused the "government" of handling the issue of the sexual slavery in haste, regarding it as an obstacle to realizing their foreign policy even though it declared it would not sit at the negotiating table with the Japanese chief executive unless the issue is solved.

They called upon the Japanese government to nullify the recent "agreement", admit its state and legal responsibility for the sexual slavery and make reparation for them and probe the truth.

On the same day the Council of Professors for Democracy and other professors and lawyers held a news conference in the same place opposing the humiliating "agreement" between Japan and south Korea.

At the conference a written opinion in the names of 219 professors and lawyers was read out.

The opinion said that the recent "agreement" is null and void in the light of international law.
