Rodong Sinmun Urges Japan to Properly Face up to Reality and Stop Behaving Recklessly

Pyongyang, January 25 (KCNA) -- Of late the Japanese reactionaries are desperately rushing headlong into the moves to turn their country into a military giant backed by their master the U.S. In the meantime, they are working hard to knock into shape the triangular military alliance by plugging south Korea into it. Rodong Sinmun Monday says in a commentary in this regard: This is evidenced by the fact that they are frantically stepping up the preparations to jointly produce new type missiles with the U.S. from 2017. The development of ultra-modern weapons in cooperation with their master under the zealous backing of the government goes to clearly prove that their moves to turn Japan into a major military power have reached an extremely dangerous stage. It is the invariable ambition and strategic goal of the Japanese reactionaries to dominate Asia. They have long beefed up their armed forces and put spurs to the moves to turn Japan into a military giant, asserting that it was defeated in the war because of its weak military muscle. On December 23 last year, Japan's maritime "self-defense force" staged joint military drills including communication exercise in Aden Gulf in the waters off Somalia together with the south Korean puppet navy. They are working hard to use the south Korean puppet forces as a shock brigade in launching reinvasion and put the whole of Korea under their control. Not content with having huge combat forces, Japan has increased its defence budget to the maximum in a bid to acquire the latest military technologies, purchase new type military hardware and escalate military drills overseas. This is little short of an open declaration before the world of its scenario to emerge a military giant and kick off overseas expansion. Japan would be well advised to properly face up to the reality and stop behaving recklessly. |
