Day of Shining Star to Be Marked in Switzerland

Pyongyang, January 27 (KCNA) -- A Swiss preparatory committee for celebrating the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il (the Day of the Shining Star) was inaugurated in Basel on Jan. 21.

Martin Lotscher, chairman of the Switzerland-Korea Committee, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to give publicity to Kim Jong Il's works and greatness and arrange a meeting, film show, seminar and other diverse political and cultural events from Jan. 24 to Feb. 17.
