Day of Sun, Day of Shining Star to Be Marked in Myanmar

| Pyongyang, January 29 (KCNA) -- A Myanmar preparatory committee for celebrating the Day of the Sun and the Day of the Shining Star (birth anniversaries of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il) was formed in Yangon on Jan. 22. Tha Win, member of the Central Committee of the Union Solidarity and Development Party of Myanmar and secretary of its Yangon Regional Committee, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee. The committee fixed the celebration period from Jan. 22 to the end of April and decided to organize colorful political and cultural events including meeting, lecture, film show and photo exhibition in praise of the feats of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. |
