The secretary said that though more than a half century has passed since the Korean War, the Korean Peninsula is now in the state of truce and war as a peace treaty is not concluded. He went on:

The U.S. should explain the reason why it is sidestepping the DPRK's proposal for concluding the peace treaty.

We regard it as one of our basic ideas to safeguard world peace.

So we strongly denounce U.S. imperialism for having systematically violated the NPT and desperately denied the nuclear disarmament.

The U.S. will not be able to escape the disastrous nuclear holocaust in case it recklessly resorts to the moves for stifling the DPRK.

The stance of the DPRK to further bolster up its nuclear deterrent is based on the principle of self-defense, the right of all countries.

The world should respect the DPRK's just stance.
