Rodong Sinmun Urges U.S. to Roll back Its Hostile Policy toward DPRK
Pyongyang, February 3 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in a commentary slams the U.S. ruling quarters for their absurd assertion that the DPRK's access to nuclear weapons poses threat to the U.S. and world peace.

This is a sheer lie and foolish sophism, the commentary says, and goes on:

The U.S. has threatened and blackmailed not a few countries with its nuclear weapons since it emerged a nuclear superpower.

Almost all the former socialist countries were the targets of the U.S. nuclear threat and blackmail. After the end of the Cold War, such countries were free from the U.S. nuclear threat and blackmail with exception for the DPRK. On the contrary, the U.S. spawned the non-existent nuclear issue of the DPRK, escalating the nuclear threat and blackmail to it.

Not content with seeking unpardonable and unprecedented political isolation of the DPRK and bringing economic blockade and military pressure upon it for the mere reason that it has differing ideology and social system and has not yielded to the ambition for aggression, the U.S. has worked hard to inflict even a nuclear disaster on it.

That's why the DPRK was compelled to make a bold decision to put an end to the U.S. moves for aggression based on the nuclear threat and blackmail with its own nuclear weapons.

The DPRK and the U.S., nuclear weapons states, are now standing in acute confrontation in the Korean Peninsula. The U.S. ruling quarters are wholly to blame for this situation.

The prevailing situation is by no means favorable for the U.S. The only way of putting it under control is for the U.S. to make the earliest possible policy switchover.

The more persistently the U.S. pursues its hostile policy toward the DPRK, the more awkward position it will find itself in.

The U.S. ruling quarters should not try to deny truth but make a bold decision to roll back their hostile policy toward the DPRK as early as possible.
