Rodong Sinmun Slams U.S. Moves to Build Missile Shield for Dominating World
Pyongyang, February 4 (KCNA) -- Recently, the U.S. is more vociferously crying out for pressing ahead with the establishment of the missile defense system, talking about the "missile threat" from someone.

Meanwhile, the south Korean military boss echoed the U.S. assertion by claiming that it is necessary to examine the issue of deploying THAAD in the Korean Peninsula.

Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun Thursday says that the U.S. is underscoring the need to deploy THAAD in south Korea in order to defend not only it but also its allies from the "threat from north Korea" but its assertion is nothing but poor sophism for covering up its sinister intention.

The commentary goes on:

The projected deployment of THAAD in south Korea is a product of the military strategy of the U.S. to turn south Korea into an advanced base for aggression in a bid to hold strategic hegemony in Northeast Asia and contain the regional powers with an unchallenged edge.

It is well known that if THAAD is deployed in south Korea, major military bases of those countries around the DPRK will come within the operational range of its radar.

Whoever is not ignorant of military affairs may guess the objective of the U.S. deployment of THAAD in south Korea.

It is beyond doubt that its deployment will kick off a fresh Cold War in the Asia-Pacific region.

The U.S. ever more undisguised moves to build a missile shield in the Asia-Pacific region to get a strategic edge would put world peace and security at greater peril.

The U.S. would be well advised to give up its foolish attempt to hold military hegemony.
