Guided by the Juche idea, the KPA assumes a mission to accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche with arms, carrying forward the traditions of anti-Japanese revolution.

After its foundation, the heroic KPA had covered a course of victory and glory under the guidance of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.

In the 1950-1953 Fatherland Liberation War against the U.S. imperialist aggressors, it worked such world-startling military miracles as shooting down B-29s of the U.S. forces and torpedoing their heavy cruiser Baltimore.

Over the last decades of confrontation with the U.S., the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK had frustrated its war moves for aggression.

Today the KPA, under the guidance of the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, has further strengthened into the invincible revolutionary Paektusan army equipped with powerful strike means and ever-victorious war methods capable of coping on its own initiative with any sort of confrontation--a local war with use of conventional weapons, an all-out war, electronic warfare and a nuclear war.

Its might was clearly displayed through flight combat drills by fighter and bomber groups under the Guards 1st Air and Anti-Air Division of the Air and Anti-Air Force, drill of all services for striking the enemy's naval targets, drill for striking and seizing island, test-fire of new type cutting-edge anti-ship rocket capable of striking any enemy fleet from a long distance, test of SLBM, etc.

Thanks to the invincible KPA, the peace and security on the Korean Peninsula is being reliably defended.
