The 12th Congress of the CPV was successfully held in Hanoi, capital city of Vietnam, from Jan. 20 to 28, 2016, the message said.

The general secretary in the message said he, on behalf of the CPV Central Committee, expresses wholehearted thanks to the WPK Central Committee for sending sincere congratulations to the 12th Congress of the CPV.

This greatly encouraged its advance, the message said.

The 12th Congress of the CVP marks an important political event in the political life of the entire Vietnamese nation and an important landmark in Vietnam's cause of innovation, joining in international integration and cause of socialist construction, the message noted, adding

The congress adopted important documents and elected the new leadership of the party.

Availing himself of the opportunity, the general secretary expressed sincere thanks to Kim Jong Un for expressing wholehearted congratulations and friendship to him upon his reelection as general secretary of the CPV Central Committee.

The message expressed conviction that the good traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two parties, two states and two peoples would steadily grow stronger in the interests of the two peoples and for peace, stability, cooperation and prosperity of the region and the rest of the world.
