Art Performance Given to Mark Day of Shining Star
Pyongyang, February 10 (KCNA) -- A performance was given by art groups of university students at the People's Palace of Culture on Wednesday to mark the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il (the Day of the Shining Star).

It began with narrative poem immortal masterpiece "O Korea, I Will Add Glory to Thee". Put on the stage were colorful numbers prepared by the members of the art groups of university students including Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, Kim Hyong Jik University of Education, Pyongyang University of Architecture, Phyongsong University of Coal Mining, Wonsan University of Agriculture and Chongjin University of Education No. 2.

The performers sang high praises of the patriotic devoted service of Kim Jong Il who made high-intensity forced march for the prosperity of the country and the happiness of the people all his life.

Also put in the stage were numbers showing the outlook on the love of the rising generation by Marshal Kim Jong Un who is glorifying the DPRK into the country of education and the power of talents, true to the intention of the great leaders.

Among them were numbers reflecting the burning resolution of the students to become the pillars and talents supporting the country by devoting their youth and enthusiasm to it.

Among the audience were Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, Choe Sang Gon, department director of the C.C., the WPK, Kim Sung Du, chairman of the Education Commission, officials concerned and teachers and students of universities in Pyongyang.
