The successful launch of satellite by scientists and technicians of the DPRK, a peaceful undertaking pursuant to the state space development plan for economic construction and improvement of the people's living standard, was a great national event that demonstrated the might of the country before the world once again, the statement said, and went on:

The world has come to know that structures of eternal value spring up and satellites fly into the sky above the DPRK which does anything in a matter of one year instead of ten years if it is determined to do.

Koreans in the north, the south and abroad highly praise the successful launch as a great national event as they know well about the distress-torn history of Korea in which its sovereignty was violated by outsiders.

However, the south Korean authorities, bereft of the soul of the Korean nation, are desperately working to stifle the compatriots in the north, pursuing only pro-U.S., pro-Japanese policies.

They should come to reason, though belatedly.
