Present there on invitation were Choe Thae Bok, chairman of the Supreme People's Assembly, Jong Yong Su, minister of Labor and chairman of the DPRK-Iran Friendship Association, Kim Jong Suk, chairwoman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, and officials concerned.

Mansour Chavoshi said in a speech that Kim Jong Il devoted his all to wisely leading the Korean people to independence, progress and bright future all his life. Thanks to Kim Jong Il the DPRK is demonstrating its might as the world's power, he noted.

He hoped that the friendly and cooperative relations between the DPRK and Iran provided by the preceding leaders of the two countries would grow stronger.

Choe Thae Bok said that Iranian friends' celebration of the Day of the Shining Star (birth anniversary of Kim Jong Il) together with the Korean people is an expression of reverence for him.

The feats Kim Jong Il performed in the development of friendly relations between the DPRK and Iran and the cause of global independence will last forever, he noted, adding:
