Pyongyang, February 13 (KCNA) -- Nigerian figures warmly hailed the DPRK's successful launch of earth observation satellite Kwangmyongsong-4. Ibrahim Mantu, member of the Credit Committee of the People's Democratic Party of Nigeria and chairman of the Nigeria-Korea Friendship Association, issued a statement on Feb. 7. He warmly congratulated the dignified DPRK upon succeeding in putting earth observation satellite Kwangmyongsong-4 into its orbit and positively supported the launch as it is a proud exercise of the sovereign state's right to use space for peaceful purpose, the statement said. Developing space can not be the monopolies of specified countries but is a legitimate right of all member states of the UN, it noted. It hoped the DPRK, satellite manufacturing and launching state, would achieve bigger successes in launching more satellites in the future, too. Alhassan Mamman Muhammad, chairman of the Nigerian National Committee for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, said in his statement on the same day that the DPRK's successful satellite launch is a proud exercise of the independent right to use space for peaceful purposes and marks a significant event in developing science, technology, economy and defense capability. He wished the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people brilliant victory in their struggle for smashing the hostile forces' moves to stifle the country, building a thriving nation and reunifying the country. |
