Present there were personages of the Russian preparatory committee for celebrating the Day of the Sun and the Day of the Shining Star, Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Moscow City Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Russian Academy of Sciences, Korean War Veterans' Council of Russia and the Forum Magazine Office and other people and the DPRK ambassador to Russia and staff members of his embassy.

The reporter and speakers said that Kim Jong Il was born into a revolutionary and patriotic family and grew up to be the peerlessly great man.

He visited Russia several times, making immortal contribution to developing the friendly relations between the DPRK and Russia, they noted.

They congratulated the DPRK on working great miracles startling the world people in the struggle for building an economic giant and improving the people's living standard including the successful launch of earth observation satellite Kwangmyongsong-4 under the wise guidance of Marshal Kim Jong Un.

They sincerely wished the Korean people greater success in building a thriving nation this significant year when the Seventh Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea is to be held.

A congratulatory message to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting.
