KPA Praised by Swiss Bodies

Pyongyang, February 16 (KCNA) -- The Swiss preparatory committee for the 2017 Meeting Praising Great Persons of Mt. Paektu, the Switzerland-Korea Committee and the Swiss Group for the Study of the Juche Idea released a joint statement on Feb. 6 on the occasion of the 68th anniversary of the development of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA) into the regular revolutionary armed forces by President Kim Il Sung.

The statement said:

The great Generalissimo Kim Il Sung, after liberating Korea by defeating the Japanese imperialists, developed the KPRA into the regular army of an independent and sovereign state on Feb. 8, 1948.

Anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk faithfully aided the work of Kim Il Sung for developing the KPRA into the Korean People's Army (KPA).

The founding of the regular revolutionary armed forces was a historic landmark in the accomplishment of the revolutionary cause of Songun.

The KPA honorably defended the freedom and independence of the young DPRK by beating back the U.S. imperialists in the Fatherland Liberation War under the leadership of Generalissimo Kim Il Sung, an iron-willed brilliant commander.

The KPA has grown to be an invincible army with strong combat capability and nuclear force under the wise leadership of Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

The KPA is reliably defending socialist Korea of Juche, Songun Korea, the fortress of world socialism.
