President Kim Il Sung built the regular revolutionary armed forces on Feb. 8, 1948 on the basis of the precious experience and tradition he established during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, the article said.

As he energetically led the work for training military and political cadres, many competent military and political cadres grew up and the work for building the regular army was pushed forward and, in the long run, the Korean people came to have regular revolutionary armed forces defending the gains of revolution with arms, it noted.

The Korean People's Army, which developed into the regular revolutionary armed forces under his Juche-based idea of building the army and wise guidance, is honorably defending the security of the socialist country and people while demonstrating its might as a matchless army, it added.
