It carried the full text of the New Year Address made by Marshal Kim Jong Un for Juche 105 (2016).

Edited in it were photos of the Marshal paying a congratulatory visit to the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces on the New Year and reviewing the guard honor of the Ground, Naval and Air and Anti-Air Forces of the Korean People's Army. It dealt with revolutionary activities conducted by him in January.

It conveyed the news that the DPRK government made public a statement on successfully conducting its first H-bomb test and there took place a ceremony for awarding party and state commendations to the nuclear scientists, technicians, soldier-builders, workers and officials who contributed to the successful H-bomb test and an army-people joint rally in Pyongyang.

It also echoed voices of public at home and abroad that the DPRK's first H-bomb test is a self-defensive step to cope with the U.S. aggression and an exercise of the legitimate independent right.
