Iranian Embassy Hosts Reception
Pyongyang, February 18 (KCNA) -- The Iranian embassy here gave a reception Thursday at the Taedonggang Diplomatic Club to observe the 37th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.

Present there on invitation were Foreign Minister of the DPRK Ri Su Yong, officials concerned, diplomatic envoys, military attaches of foreign embassies and representatives of international bodies here.

Mansour Chavoshi, Iranian ambassador to the DPRK, recalled in his speech that the Iranian people achieved a victory in the revolution for regaining their national independence and sovereignty in 1979 through their costly self-sacrifice and hardships.

Iran will forge friendly relations with all countries including its neighboring countries and strengthen cooperation to ensure regional and world peace and stability, he said, adding:

The friendly relations between the DPRK and the Islamic Republic of Iran are growing stronger than ever before. We will work hard to develop the bilateral relations in all fields this year, too.

Ri Su Yong in his speech said the Iranian people have made strenuous effort to achieve development and prosperity of the nation, foiling all challenges and pressure by the hostile forces for the past 37 years since the victorious revolution.

The Korean people are pleased with the successes made by the Iranian government and people in defending their right to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, developing the country's economy and achieving national prosperity, Ri added.

He expressed belief that the solidarity and cooperation between the two countries would grow stronger in the struggle for defending the sovereignty and dignity of their countries against high-handed and arbitrary practices of the hostile forces.
