Korea Should Be Reunified on Basis of Inter-Korean Agreements: Nigerian Organization

Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- The Nigerian National Committee for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism posted an article titled "Independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity are fundamental principles of Korea's reunification" on its website on Feb. 9. The article said: The government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea long ago advanced a proposal for concluding a peace treaty between the DPRK and the U.S. to provide fundamentals for national reunification and has made strenuous efforts to implement the proposal in the new century, too. The position of the signatories to a peace treaty promoted from non-nuclear weapons state vs nuclear weapons state to nuclear weapons state vs nuclear weapons state when the DPRK has become a full-fledged nuclear weapons state. The DPRK, however, has remained unchanged in its stand to put an end to the state of ceasefire and create environment for the peaceful reunification. The DPRK calls for reunifying the country on the three principles of national reunification and according to the historic June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration agreed at the north-south summits. This draws the unanimous support and welcome from the international community as well as the Korean nation. Therefore, these agreements should be valued and Korea be reunified based on them. It is north and south of Korea which are concerned with and urgently interested in national reunification. Foreign forces' interference in the issue of Korea's reunification will fan up the confrontation between the north and the south. |
