The statement said:

The Japanese government's decision to slap additional sanctions against the DPRK is unjustifiable as it escalates the tension in the Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia.

Its action is an illegal act of confusing right and wrong and violating international law.

Its decision is an intolerable inhuman act of unreasonably restricting and suppressing the legitimate activities of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and the life and right of Koreans in Japan.

The statement urged the Japanese government to retract at once the unreasonable sanctions against the DPRK, Chongryon and Koreans in Japan.
