Present at the seminar were Ri Yong Su, chairman of the Korean Social Scientists Association in Japan, and other members of the association, leading officials of organizations and enterprises of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), teachers, postgraduates and students of Korean University, officials of Chongryon in Kanto area and other Koreans.

Speakers said that Marshal Kim Jong Un in his New Year Address called for ushering in a golden age in building a thriving nation this year when the Seventh Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea is to be held.

They referred to the successes being made by the people in the homeland in building an economic giant and a highly civilized nation.

They praised the great Generalissimo Kim Jong Il for providing all foundations for hastening the final victory in the drive for building a thriving nation.

They said that Chongryon and Koreans in Japan would significantly greet this significant year as a year of the historic advance in which they will further demonstrate before the world the might of Chongryon which grew strong under the care of the great leaders, by keeping pace with the homeland advancing by leaps and bounds under the leadership of Kim Jong Un who is translating the intention and ideals of Kim Jong Il into realities.
