Jan. 15th of Lunar Calendar, Holiday of Koreans
Pyongyang, February 22 (KCNA) -- Today is the 15th of January of lunar calendar.

From olden times, the Korean people have enjoyed the January 15th of the lunar calendar as a holiday to see the first full moon of a year.

Korean ancestors regarded the moon as an object bringing rich harvest and happiness.

So, the day had been celebrated as the biggest holiday after the lunar New Year's Day. It was one of the nine national holidays in the period of Koryo Kingdom (918-1392).
