Day of Shining Star Celebrated in Various Countries

Pyongyang, February 23 (KCNA) -- Events took place in different countries on Feb. 12 and 13 to celebrate the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il (the Day of the Shining Star). They included a meeting and opening ceremony of photo, book and handicraft exhibition in Bulgaria, photo and book exhibition in Romania and photo and book exhibition and film show in Bangladesh.

Displayed at the venues of the events were photos dealing with the exploits of President Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un.

Also on display there were their works, and photos and books introducing the service personnel and people of the DPRK ushering in a heyday in building a thriving nation and handicrafts associated with the wisdom and talents of the Korean nation.

Films shown included a Korean film documenting the leadership feats of Kim Jong Un.

Present at the events were personages of the Bulgarian Communists Union, the Bulgaria-Korea Friendship Association, the Socialist Party of Romania, the Romania-Korea Friendship Association and the Bangladesh Group for the Study of the Songun Policy and masses.

A congratulatory message to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the event held in Bulgaria.
