Preparations for Spring Tree Planting Brisk in DPRK

| Pyongyang, February 23 (KCNA) -- Big efforts have been paid to cultivating saplings in the DPRK, with the approach of the tree-planting day (March 2) as an occasion. The Central Nursery under the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection has tended 70 species of saplings for spring tree planting. It expanded the cultivation area by 1.8 times and prepared 540 cubic meters of humus, 1 000 cubic meters of sawdust and rice chaff each and 900 tons of peat. The nursery, which was visited by supreme leader Kim Jong Un, is playing a big role in turning the whole country into a thick woodland and greenery. Sapling cultivation has also been encouraged at nurseries in South Hwanghae, Jagang, North Phyongan and other provinces. |
