Japanese Authorities' Suppression of Chongryon Accused by Swiss Organizations

Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- The Switzerland-Korea Committee and the Swiss Group for the Study of the Juche Idea issued a joint statement on Feb. 21 in denunciation of the Japanese authorities' politically-motivated suppression of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon).

The statement said that days ago the Japanese police authorities searched the offices of economic bodies under Chongryon and arrested a Korean trader.

It went on:

The Japanese police authorities' suppression of Chongryon means a grave politically-motivated terror against the DPRK's sovereignty.

The reactionary Abe regime's terrorist act is part of its sanctions against the DPRK.

The Japanese reactionaries have worked hard to stifle Chongryon, a legitimate and dignified organization.

The politically-motivated terror against Chongryon is a reflection of the Japanese ruling quarters' national discrimination against the Korean people.

Still now, terror and suppression of Chongryon continue in Japan.

Such acts are a clear sign of abuses of rights of Koreans in Japan.
