Power Production Goes Up in DPRK

Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- All the employees at thermal power plants in the DPRK have turned out in the 70-day campaign to raise the production of electricity. In this regard, Ryu Ki Chan, vice-director of the Ministry of Electric Power Industry, told KCNA: Thermal power plants across the country are now displaying their capability to the full for increased production. The Pukchang Thermal Power Complex, a leading electricity producer, turned out 60,000 more kws of electricity in recent three days as against the same period of last year. The Pyongyang Thermal Power Complex produces more 10,000 kws of electric power every day than scheduled quota while the Sunchon Thermal Power Complex carries out its daily production plan at 105 percent by making technical innovations on a mass basis and raising the efficiency of turbines to the maximum. Such progress is also reported from East Pyongyang and Chongchongang thermal power plants. |
