"Illustrated Book on Fruits" Worthy of National Treasure

| Pyongyang, February 29 (KCNA) -- "Illustrated Book on Fruits" was recently completed by Kim Kwang Jun, a staff of the Academy of Agricultural Science, and Choe Ok Sim, a researcher of Pyongyang Agricultural College of Kim Il Sung University in the DPRK. The book deals with species of fruits and their gene pools in a comprehensive and systematical way and their specific characters. Carried in it are data on 15 species of fruits and their 303 varieties now under cultivation in the DPRK together with 1,891 color photos showing flowers, leaves, seeds, shapes of trees, etc. The book would be helpful to cultivating high-yielding species, planting right tree on the right soil and thus increasing fruit production. Some days ago, supreme leader Kim Jong Un highly praised its writers Kim and Choe for their contribution to its successful completion. |
