Successes Made in Developing Electricity Control System

Pyongyang, March 1 (KCNA) -- Big efforts are paid to converting the electricity control system into an electricity-saving one in the DPRK. In this regard, Ju Jong Sil, deputy director of the Electric Power Industry Research Institute under the Ministry of Electric Power Industry, told KCNA: A project to relay transmission lines was completed across the country, thus reducing the loss of power in transmission. Meanwhile, production processes at the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex and Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex have been equipped with advanced reactive power compensation devices and frequency converters, which leads to the improvement of productive efficiency. The production and consumption of electricity has been put under integrated real-time management. CNC-based load power control system, remote-control terminal and card watt-hour meter have been widely introduced at industrial establishments and other units. The Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea recently issued the joint calls, one of them is "Let us definitely convert the electricity control system of the country into an electricity-saving one!" |
