The statement accused the Japanese Police Agency of hurling a police team under its joint investigation headquarters into searching the offices of companies under Chongryon and arresting the director of a trading company under it.

The Japanese Police Agency's recent crackdown is an encroachment upon the sovereignty of the DPRK and grave human rights abuse and politically-motivated terrorism against the officials of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan as it is part of the Japanese government's anti-DPRK and anti-Chongryon sanctions.

The statement denounced the Japanese government's unreasonable anti-DPRK, anti-Chongryon sanctions, supporting Chongryon in its just activities for defending democratic freedom and national rights.
