3.5 Million Trees Planted in DPRK

Pyongyang, March 2 (KCNA) -- It is 70 years after President Kim Il Sung climbed Moran Hill on March 2, Juche 35 (1946) to unroll a far-reaching plan for turning all the mountains of the country into a people's paradise covered with thick forests.

This day is observed as the Tree-planting Day in the DPRK.

All the people of the country have been working hard to create forests of economic value, scenic forests and firewood forests, etc, declaring the forest restoration as a war with nature.

With this year's Tree-planting Day as an occasion, a brisk tree-planting campaign was carried out throughout the country.

According to data available, more than 3.5 million trees of scores of species were planted today.
