The chairman of the Ecuadorian preparatory committee for the 2017 Meeting Praising Great Persons of Mt. Paektu said that Kim Jong Il was the peerless patriot who defended the dignity and sovereignty of the Korean nation and provided the Korean people with happy life.

The chairman of the Ecuadorian Committee for Supporting Korea's Independent and Peaceful Reunification noted that Kim Jong Il was not only the tender-hearted father of the Korean people but also the most outstanding statesman and great revolutionary praised by progressives.

The representative of the Chile Branch of the Korean Friendship Association said that a decisive turn was made in carving out the destiny of the people as Kim Jong Il was born on Feb. 16, 1942.

He made journeys of devotion till the last moments of his life in order to turn the DPRK into a socialist power and made sure that miracles and innovations were made in all fields by dint of ideology, the representative noted.
