DPRK: Officials Strive to Raise Output of Electricity
Pyongyang, March 7 (KCNA) -- All officials of the Ministry of Electric Power Industry in the DPRK have turned out in a work to raise the output of electricity to the maximum.

According to Ryu Ki Chan, vice-director of the Ministry, they are concentrating efforts on the scientific and technical guidance over the power production.

Those in charge of thermal power sector took proper measures for the smooth supply of raw and other materials after learning about generating equipment and other production conditions on the spot.

At Pyongyang Thermal Power Complex, Pukchang Thermal Power Complex and other thermal power plants across the country, they encouraged the workers and technicians to introduce oxygen-pulverized anthracite firing technology and other advanced technologies into production so as to raise the output per a generator with use of less heavy oil and coal.

As a result, the thermal power plants under the Ministry have carried out their production quota at 102.2 percent on a daily average from the outset of the 70-day campaign.

Meanwhile, such movement of officials can be seen in the hydro-power sector.

They are now working hard to ensure the smooth progress of overhaul or repair of generating equipment and structures at hydro-power stations while intensifying the guidance over the construction of Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station No. 3.
