TV and other media of the country have focused on the signal achievements made one after another in various economic sectors.

It is a peculiar and traditional spirit of the Korean army and people to work admirable miracles in response to the calls made by the Party and the government to bring a great upsurge in the revolution and construction at every historic turning point.

The first 70-day campaign was conducted in the early 1970s, rousing all the servicepersons and civilians to the performance of fresh miracles and feats in production and construction. The campaign resulted in a solid foundation for smoothly hitting the high targets of the Six-Year Plan of national economy set at the 5th Congress of the WPK.

Early in the 1980s, a 100-day campaign was launched to greet the 6th Congress of the WPK with greater achievements. The campaign made a breakthrough in the efforts to carry out the Second Seven-Year Plan ahead of schedule, displaying the revolutionary zeal and heroic stamina of all the DPRK people.

A 200-day campaign was witnessed late in the 1980s with the 40th anniversary of the DPRK as an occasion, and it was followed by another 200-day campaign that provided a guarantee for the smooth implementation of the Third Seven-Year Plan.

The year 2005 saw another 100-day campaign conducted to glorify the 60th anniversary of the WPK as a grand festival of victors.

In 2009 there was a 150-day campaign that opened up a bright prospect for glorifying the year as one of a great turn to be specially recorded in the history of building a thriving nation, then followed by another 100-day campaign intended to lay a springboard for entering the gate of a thriving nation in 2012.

Through the ongoing 70-day campaign, the DPRK people will make signal achievements in production and construction by dint of the spirit of self-reliance and self-development and thus greet the 7th WPK Congress significantly.
