Ibrahim Mantu, member of the Credit Committee of the People's Democratic Party of Nigeria and chairman of the Nigeria-Korea Friendship Association, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to give wide publicity to the revolutionary career and exploits of the President and the successes made by the service personnel and people of the DPRK in defending the sovereignty of the country and building a thriving socialist nation and organize a meeting, lecture, film show and other political and cultural events on the occasion of the anniversary.
