Foreign News Introduce Tree-planting in DPRK
Pyongyang, March 13 (KCNA) -- Foreign media introduced tree-planting in the DPRK.

The Slovak internet homepage kldr.sk on March 2 posted an article titled "70th Tree-planting Day" together with photos of President Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un planting trees.

It said that Kim Il Sung climbed Moran Hill on Mar. 2, 1946 to plant trees with the farseeing plan to turn the motherland destroyed under the colonial rule by the Japanese imperialists into a thickly wooded green paradise of the people. Since then the DPRK marks the day as Tree-planting Day.

It noted Kim Jong Il with ardent patriotism devoted his all to opening the new history of greenery of the motherland true to the farseeing plan of the President.

The wishes of the preceding leaders are now being realized under the leadership of Kim Jong Un, it added.

TASS on Mar. 4 said that the people of all ages irrespective of sex in the DPRK took part in the work for turning the country to thick woodland on the Tree-planting Day.

A U.S. website and Reuters on Mar. 3 carried similar reports about a campaign to turn the country into a thick woodland being staged in the DPRK.
