Andy Brooks, general secretary of the Central Committee of the New Communist Party of Britain, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to give wide publicity to the President's revolutionary exploits, bring out in booklet works of Marshal Kim Jong Un and organize political and cultural events including a meeting and seminar in the run-up to the Day of the Sun.
