Irina Malenko, chairwoman of the Ireland-Korea Friendship Association, was elected chairwoman of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to arrange political and cultural events to highly praise and give wide publicity to the exploits of Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and the wise leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un on the occasion the Day of the Sun.
