Koreans in Tohoku, Japan Meet

Tokyo, March 16 (KNS-KCNA) -- There took place a meeting of Koreans in Tohoku, Japan at the Tohoku Korean primary and secondary school in Miyagi Prefecture on March 12 on the lapse of five years since the great earthquake in east Japan. The participants paid silent tribute to the memory of Korean victims. Pak Ku Ho, vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), said leader Kim Jong Il sent a message of sympathy and consolatory money to the Korean victims of the unprecedented large earthquake and tidal wave five years ago. It was benevolent loving care and precious life-giving water which saved those Koreans in Japan who were left hopeless, he added. Speeches were made. At the end of the meeting officials of Chongryon conducted sympathy activities for Korean victims. |
