The participants paid silent tribute to the memory of Korean victims.

Pak Ku Ho, vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), said leader Kim Jong Il sent a message of sympathy and consolatory money to the Korean victims of the unprecedented large earthquake and tidal wave five years ago. It was benevolent loving care and precious life-giving water which saved those Koreans in Japan who were left hopeless, he added.

At the end of the meeting officials of Chongryon conducted sympathy activities for Korean victims.
