Tideland Reclamation Projects Progress Apace in DPRK
Pyongyang, March 19 (KCNA) -- The reclamation of tideland has been dynamically pushed forward in the DPRK as part of the efforts to greet the 7th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea with unprecedented labor achievements.

The project to build the dyke No. 2 is carried on at its final stage in the Nunggumdo tideland. After its completion, there will appear over 1,000 hectares of culture ground.

Since the start of the ongoing 70-day campaign, they succeeded in blasting 60,000 cubic meter earth twice and carried out thousands of cubic meters of filling and thousands of square meters of stoning in a little over 20 days.

Such successes have been witnessed in the reclamation of the Honggondo tideland.

The builders successfully blasted 300,000 cubic meter earth in the area of Sokhwa while carrying out their daily quota at 250 percent in stoning dyke No. 4. If the project is completed, more than 4,500 hectares of tideland will be reclaimed into farmland.

The same is true of the Ryongmaedo tideland reclamation project.
