Production Upsurge Witnessed in DPRK

Pyongyang, March 23 (KCNA) -- The working class of the DPRK are bringing about upsurge in production and construction in the ongoing 70-day campaign with the will to shatter the anti-DPRK war drills and crude sanctions of the U.S. imperialists and Park Geun Hye puppet group of south Korea.

The Pyongyang Thermal Power Complex has generated more tens of thousands of kilowatts than scheduled on a daily basis.

According to data available at the Ministry of Coal Industry, a daily increase of over 5,000 tons of coal output has been registered, as compared with January, thus doubling the supply of coal to electric power, metallurgical and chemical industries.

The Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex and the Chollima Steel Complex have increased steel and rolled steel production up to 2.7 times and 1.9 times after the start of the campaign against the same period last year.

The field of railway transportation has cut the turn-round of freight wagons by 24 hours after the start of the campaign, while increasing the freightage nearly 1.1 times.

Meanwhile, the builders of the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station worked such miracles as carrying out 12,000 cubic meters of dam filling within 24 hours.
