Efforts Paid to Improving Meteorological Observation
Pyongyang, March 23 (KCNA) -- The DPRK has made achievements in the work to put meteorological observation and weather forecast on a scientific basis.

The State Hydro-meteorological Administration developed automatic observation device to raise the accuracy of weather forecast on the basis of real-time observations.

It also applied an advanced forecast method to raising the accuracy in forecasting disastrous meteorological phenomena, while pushing ahead with the building of a database.

Today marks the World Meteorological Day.

On this day, various events took place in the country such a meeting for in-depth discussion on the measures adopted at the meeting of the UN Climate Change Conference held in December last year.

Choe Kwang Guk, head of the National Meteorological Forecast Squad, told KCNA that they would strive to raise the observation and forecast capabilities in cooperation with the World Meteorological Organization, so as to make contributions to the prevention of disasters.
