NPCK's 67th Birthday Observed
Pyongyang, March 24 (KCNA) -- The National Peace Committee of Korea (NPCK) held an annual general meeting at the Chollima Hall of Culture on Thursday on its 67th founding anniversary.

Present at the meeting were senior officials, members of the standing committee, officials and members of the secretariat of the NPCK.

Officials of the Korean Committee for Solidarity with the World People, the Korean Committee for Afro-Asian Solidarity, the Democratic Lawyers Association of Korea and other Korean public organizations were also on hand as observers.

A reporter reviewed the committee's successes and experiences in 2015.

Informing the participants of the regional and international political situation around the Korean peninsula in 2015, the reporter noted that the struggle to achieve the national reunification and peace has encountered hard difficulties due to the hostile policy pursued by the U.S. and its followers toward the DPRK.

The reporter underlined the need for the committee to launch bold peace activities conducive to achieving peace and reunification of the country in 2016 in compliance with its mission and goals now that the danger of a nuclear war is increasing on the Korean peninsula.

Speakers referred to the issues to tighten the ties with the world progressive figures, international democratic bodies, peace-loving and solidarity bodies and arouse them to the struggle for peace and security on the Korean peninsula and in northeast Asia and the rest of the world and co-prosperity of humankind.

After the meeting the participants looked round the photos introducing the activities of the committee in 2015.
