CNA-resistant Steel Produced in DPRK
|
|
Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- The Material Institute under Kim Chaek University of Technology in the DPRK succeeded in realizing the local production of steel resistant to concentrated nitric acid (CNA) in high temperature. This kind of steel is made with pure iron at an induction furnace by means of alloyage. Its field trial showed that it still maintains its acid-resistant property even in high-temperature concentrated nitric acid. The stainless steel is equal in mechanical properties to the international standardized one. Through a process of putting its production on an industrial basis, the Institute made a breakthrough in producing very low-carbon special stainless steel. |
