According to an official concerned, efforts will be mainly concentrated on forestation and road and river improvement during the spring campaign.

As part of the seasonal forest restoration campaign, a large number of saplings were transplanted.

The rooting rate of saplings transplanted last year was reviewed at every institution, enterprise and cooperative unit to urge tree-planting on a scientific basis this year.

Efforts are paid to building nurseries, raising fertility of sapling fields and digging wells and water holes for the prevention of drought damage.

Building and repairing of embankments and anti-tidal dykes are also accelerated in different parts of the country, including North and South Phyongan and South Hamgyong provinces.
