Viktor Yegorov, chairman of the Karelia-DPRK Friendship Association of Russia, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to send a congratulatory message to Marshal Kim Jong Un and organize colorful political and cultural events for praising the exploits of Kim Il Sung on the occasion of the Day of the Sun.

It also decided to release a statement supporting the just measures taken by the DPRK in view of the prevailing situation on the Korean peninsula.
