DPRK Strives to Secure Water Resources
Pyongyang, March 30 (KCNA) -- It is getting momentum in the DPRK to secure water resources.

Prospecting groundwater resources has been steadily carried on together with the introduction of gravity-fed water supply system in different parts of the country.

Importance is attached to properly managing barrages, filling reservoirs and preserving intake works.

Efforts have also been paid to apply water-saving farming method and drip irrigation.

Meanwhile, the DPRK government pays deep attention to prevention of water pollution.

Water purification facilities have been upgraded, fodder-saving fishing methods introduced at fish farms and waste-water well treated to prevent pollution of rivers.

In particular, Pyongyang City is taking the lead in preventing water pollution by improving the processes of precipitation, filtration and decontamination.
